All things in life come through compounding

All great things in life come from compounding, each day we move the needle persevering and then you find the world a much more malleable place than you initially anticipated. Fitness, skill-building, relationship building are multi-year games.

Don’t purchase loneliness

It was in David Brook’s podcast that I heard this line, as we grow richer we usually purchase loneliness. Keeping bean counters while dealing with people you would want to associate forever is stupid.

Twitter is the best social network

To be around the best people in every imaginable field of human knowledge and go through their opinions is superbly enriching.

Life is not a portfolio

Portfolio approach works best for financial investments. It is accepted that life is without purpose and is just seeking more entropy. Outsize returns happen from concentrated bets of time. Optionality after optionality is worth-less.

Best investment in bitcoin is from the learning

Low time preference, monetary history and collective behavior of humans all come out live through the hyper waves of crypto cycles.

Writing a journal is super helpful

Monkey brain keeps on opening multiple threads of analyzing and hypothesizing. Writing forces you to focus and distill the thought further. Gratitude journaling is amazing.

Suffering and progress

It’s only through suffering that we progress. 2018 is the year I identify as finally crossing the chasm towards adulthood.
